Security isn't an afterthought — it's foundational to everything we build. Here's how we protect your business data.
Data Encryption
All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+ and at rest using AES-256 encryption. Your business information, client details, and financial records are protected by the same encryption standards used by banks and financial institutions.
Authentication
Solo uses industry-standard JWT tokens and secure session management. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with per-user salts. Google OAuth is supported as an additional sign-in method with PKCE flow protection.
Two-Factor Authentication
Two-factor authentication is actively in development. In the meantime, Google OAuth with PKCE flow protection provides a strong secondary authentication method.
Data Residency
Your data is stored in secure, managed PostgreSQL databases hosted in the US. All infrastructure is deployed on AWS with automated backups, point-in-time recovery, and high availability.
GDPR & Privacy
Solo is designed with privacy by default. We collect only the data necessary to provide our services. You can export or delete your data at any time. We never sell your personal information to third parties.

We are pursuing SOC 2 Type II compliance to formally validate our security controls. Our infrastructure provider is already SOC 2 Type II certified, and we follow industry security best practices throughout our stack.
Data Portability
Your data belongs to you. Solo supports full data export so you can take your clients, invoices, projects, and time entries with you if you ever decide to leave. No lock-in, no hostage data.
